Who is Bright Star Exploration?
Bright Star Exploration (BSX) is a mineral exploration company focused on the Smackover formation, a deep brine-rich rock layer running beneath East Texas that holds some of the most sought-after lithium deposits in the United States. Lithium is the metal at the heart of every electric-vehicle battery, which makes the landowners who sit above the Smackover a critical audience for any explorer.
BSX needed those landowners to find the company first. HMM built the search presence that would put BSX in front of the right people at the moment they started looking.
Where did the work start?
At the end of 2024, BSX was close to invisible in search. The site ranked for nine keywords in total, only two of which reached the top position, and it drew roughly 510 visitors across the whole year. For a company whose growth depends on landowners voluntarily reaching out, that level of visibility placed a hard ceiling on lead flow.
The goal was direct. Own the searches that landowners and mineral owners actually type when they look into leasing, then turn that visibility into real conversations.
What did HMM do?
The engagement centered on search engine optimization (SEO), the practice of structuring a website so it ranks for the terms its audience searches. HMM launched more than thirty new pages built around the language of East Texas lithium leasing, covering the Smackover formation itself, landowner-friendly exploration, and the specifics of Texas lithium leases.
Every page targeted a genuine search intent rather than a vanity term. Internal links connected them so the pages that close business, land and leasing, carried the most authority.
What changed in a year?
By December 2025, BSX ranked for 85 keywords, up from 9, an 844 percent increase. Keywords sitting in the number-one position climbed from two to twenty-seven, including high-intent terms such as Smackover formation Texas, East Texas lithium mining, and landowner-friendly lithium exploration.
Traffic followed. Unique visitors grew 308 percent year over year, from 510 to 2,578. The home page, the land and leasing page, and the Texas lithium leases page drew the most attention, which were exactly the pages built to convert.
The visibility turned into pipeline. BSX recorded 39 quality phone calls longer than sixty seconds and 84 form submissions, a 223 percent rise in inbound inquiries.
